Man O Man O Man, The big homie Sterling Simms (BONG BONG!) Man I remember when Sterling first got signed to Def Jam by Ray Ro. He was doing his walk thru in the building and Ray Ro introduced us and Sterling was mad cool. A few days later we kicked it at the studio while he recorded his version of “Floating” by Megan Rochelle. Here we are about 2 years later and his album is finally IN STORES NOW! It’s hard to find an album thats good from beginning to the end (Love/Hate, Year of The Gentleman, First Love) but this album is a certified hit. After the first track which is the single “All I Need” feat. Jadakiss is a song called “PLAYA” about a guy thats usually the playa getting played by a girl this time, this is a upbeat song and is one of my favorites. “Best Friend” is a song about after seeing his girlfriend after a few months it turns up that she’s pregnant by his best friend. Ouch!. “Doin Dat Dere” is also an upbeat joint that will get you rocking in the clubs. “She Should Be Thanking You” is a great song about a current girlfriend that should be thanking is EX for his changed ways. Overall the album is a smash, but dont take me word for it….LISTEN NOW!

AS I LISTEN TO MY IPOD LOOKING FOR A SONG THAT WILL GUIDE ME THOUGH SOME TOUGH DECISIONS I MUST MAKE, THIS SONG CAME ON AND IT FELT LIKE THE PERFECT SONG, I STILL DON’T HAVE AN ANSWER TO MY PROBLEMS BUT IT JUST FELT GOOD LISTENING TO THIS SONG. Ok, The new year is approaching and I find myself thinking of what my plans and goals are for the 2009. I know I will be graduating in May (fingers crossed) and I really have to make some powerful career choices. I came across my reasons for being an intern at Def Jam for so long (Oct’ 05) and my reasons for staying there. I LOVE MUSIC!. Its that simple. Music has been there for me and has helped me through so much and by me interning at Def Jam (The best music label in the world) is kinda like me giving back to music. As a community service. Sure I would love to work there and contribute to the greater cause of music, and travel the world and have my decisions effect the way the world of music fans perceive something. If I do something small such as making a copy of something or booking travel for you, that makes a big difference in your day and getting other important work done. Plus I will learn something in the process as well, I might not know it then and there but somewhere down the line that information I learned will come in handy down the future. So as long as I am at Def Jam aiding anyone who needs help, I feel good and when that album comes out I feel even better knowing that my few minutes of time helped in someway shape or form with the releasing of that album. At the end of the day we are all a team, from the Chairman to the mail room workers and we all release albums together!
